ALZA / EXORA / LIVINA
The Alza Perodua was in fact the most anticipated car in 2009 for the Malaysian public, in a way that was more about the advertising in the assessment that it was a rival of protons of the Exora. With so much riding on it, we decided to give the Alza a run for their money, and we must admit, Alza ticks almost all cases. Yes, almost all but not all. With his brother, Perodua myvi still topping sales charts from month to month, much was expected from this car or what it even for a moment, another MPV.
For some reason, that Perodua says the myvi is proving to be a cult car among the Malaysians. This is a matter of time until every other car that we are on the road proves to be seen as myvi. Perodua will be put to good use the same platform, have created their latest baby and are sure to win another decision on the basis of the strong interest, before the 1 Model left the band.
We decided to take no turn and see what is "epic Perodua Alza" everything. For the beginning is almost 90% of the design of the myvi is based and if you are to him personally, he could really notice how another myvi but with a slightly larger, the similarities do not stop there, you think the rest of the cabin and large parts of the myvi borrowed for interior decoration. The car did not look very nice feel very Malaysia.
The Alza we sampled SXI, which means that the specification premium version with a manual gearbox with RM61, 000 OTR will be assessed. What you think of the standard model includes ABS with EBD and brake assist, two airbags, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, leather wrapped with audio controls, driver seat height adjustment, front fog lamps, rear spoiler, Seat product quality and a silver-trimmed cabin. It's certainly a lot of extra material for another RM5, 000
Alza is driven by the 3SZ-VE engine with 1.5 liters is the same cast block that powers the Toyota Avanza 1.5 and Rush. The camera on the Perodua is reported to be producing around 103 hp with 136 Nm of torque on tap for the driver. This figure is slightly lower than the Avanza Perodua have suggested that the engine is recalibrated for the economy improved moderately. The test unit we got was equipped with a manual transmission 5-speed automatic transmission, but should the opportunity attractive and most preferred among the buyers.
Performance
The engine was surprisingly happy on tour and since then a manual, Alza away from the traffic light on standing starts surprisingly quickly peeled. In fact, many of Wira and Waja, we met while waiting in traffic seemed to be little dots on the mirror (a few seconds). Shame partner was not a volunteer manual, which you continue. Gears were very sticky and rubbery and silent in a way not to mention a bit extra effort especially when shifting down gear 2-1 gears. The compactness or tightness in the gearbox has also meant that we were further forward to the 5th and 3 Space is something that can search Perodua in later models. However Alza scores many points to be able to keep pace with minimal effort and rev happy. That means you would be more than happy to floor the throttle rewards at the expense of fuel consumption, but with a relatively strong increase 1.5Litre engine 4pot. The engine gets a bit noisy environment after 3500 rpm, in Alza over 105 km / h in 5th to translate motion.
Throw in the 3 passengers in the back seat and the performance starts to dip. Much work is needed to move the machine, but it failed to move the miles as soon as they on the street. The key here is dynamic. Overtaking is no problem, and the manual transmission Copes fairly well in the 3rd and the 4th and in rare cases you may need a lower speed than down. But if you throw in another 2 or 3 passengers in the back, and choose to use it as an MPV, if he can meet your problems begin. While the car is off again in order to appear respectable starts, you find the right foot by further and further in order to move. That means fuel consumption is rather average, but for most owners mpv is not too much a problem as it will be offset by the additional weight.
Handling
The driving experience in the Alza is also quite nice. The ride is quite good and the suspension absorbs bumps quite well. Cornering traction and lateral stability at high speed is very good for a fact, and the car feels very stable in both corners. The role is minimal, but we suspect the rear passengers, especially in the 3rd Line could be a few complaints about comfort, but we understand Alza is more commonly used than 5 cars so this may have an area Perodua may be, have chosen to ignore so you can drive the company car and how to keep. 15-inch wheels look good and are perhaps the best compromise between price and handling, but we feel that 16 or 17 inch wheels would be a much better option for more grips on the road.
Space
Space wise, Alza feels much smaller than those in Exora and should be about the size of a Grand Livina. Like most car Perodua is defined rather thin, with 3 people in the back spasms would fit easily. The headroom they are very high and should be more than enough for the average Malaysian. Here in this Alza is fairly simple. The doors opened fairly wide and the height is just perfect, which means that 1 get in the car.
Access to the third row is fine. The absence of a machine Alza fit system for the second line, which means you have to fold the back seat and train on the basis that an operation in two phases, which is less favorable. Once that is done, the opening is small and those who are less agile can be difficult to have light.
When they are side by side for the Grand Livina seems Alza measure virtually the same. The Exora They is certainly very much longer and wider than the Alza suggesting a more pleasant environment to 7 seats adults. The key here is that the Grand Livina and Exora become full, while lengthened Perodua MPV is a car.
After carefully folding seats also meant that you can easily configure the MPV to any kind of set up for the transportation of your goods. The shopping is fun, you probably a bit more creative options for your purchases and do not get to take care of postage. If the mode 7 seats, rear space is very limited. In the best case, you could stack away with a backpack a few vertically.
The only thing we wanted on ALZA has numerous holes in storage compartment, cup holders and rather good-looking dashboard. Shame it easy and cheap looking to operate the air conditioning. The audio system is Bluetooth compatible and has a USB port and see ourselves as one important and novel. Standard OEM speakers looking for work but had a slight hum in it when playing tracks, with lots of bass.
CONCLUSION
Like other MPV, it is far from perfect. But do to his credit, not to mention Perodua Alza a large MPV, pulled the "5 +2" status occasional seven-seater. And to think, a lot better myvi more legroom, a large squares and two emergency "Alza is a brilliant proposal. We can see how the Malaysians with myvi is popular, and if more of the same on the above-mentioned advantages a small premium, there's no reason not that Alza is a great success. As a bonus, Alza has enough power and is going to be quite decent
